Everybody welcome, you don't have to be a club member to attend.

Monday 4th November the club is hosting a chocolate Sculpture demonstration. The demonstration open open to everybody and starts at 10:30 at the Community Centre. Tea and coffee available and there will be a raffle which should include some chocolate prizes.

Birthday Celebrations

40 Years old in October

In October the club celebrated it's 40th Birthday with bubbles and a special cake to mark the occasion. We had some 50 people present on the day so a very good turnout.

Medical Detection Dogs

Dogs and Smells

In the Summer a large group from the club spent time at the Milton Keynes headquarters of the Medical Detection Dogs charity. They watched the dogs being trained and a demonstration of the sort of wprk these dogs are capable of doing.

Over forty group members gathered for our annual Summer Lunch at the beginning of July. Good food and company made for e very enjoyable event.

Richard III Museum

In April a large group from the club visited the Richard III Museum in Liecester. Everybody enjoyed the exhibition. The cake and coffee in the restaurant were good as well.

Shuttleworth Visit

On the 27th September a group from the club spent an enjoyable day at the Shuttleworth Collection exploring the xhibits and the gardens. Great fun was had by all.

Club Activity Has Restarted

As lockdown restrictions have been eased the club has been able to restart some of its activities.

At the moment Rambling, Strollers and Friends in the Garden have been able to begin activates again. With the changes to lockdown restriction coming over the next few weeks we hope to be able to start more and more of our groups. For example Luncheon Club is under review to commence again now that we can meet in larger groups outdoors. Club members should check with the lead of any particular group they are interested in.

Temporary Suspension

In line with the lastest Government guidelines all activity for the club has been suspended until further notice. It is hoped that at least Ramblers and Strollers can restart once the current lockdown comes to an end. Please check back here for further news as the lockdown comes to an end.

Friends at Home Reborn

Our Friends at Home group have decided to restart their activites but to adopt a new name "Friends in Your Garden" for the summer. The idea to to meet up in peoples gardens twice a month for a relaxed gathering to share friendship and dicuss whatever topic comes upon the day. Group sizewill be managed to conply with guidelines and social distancing will be respected at all times. Contact Micheal for more information. Let's hope it stays dry over the summer!

Strollers Restart

The Strollers Group have been able to restart their walks around the village and now meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. If you are interested be outside the pub at 10:30.

Ramblers Group Restarts

As the restrictions due to the Virus Pandemic are eased it has been possible to restart the ramblers group. The group now meets twice a month for either a 5 mile or 3 mile walk starting from the village. Walks are on the First and 3rd Mondays of each Month. Cantact David or Trevor for more details

Greens Norton Lockdown Cookbook

An excellent turn out for Christmas Lunch

Almost 60 people attended an excellent Christmas Lunch at Silverstone Golf Club on the 2nd December. Everybody had an good time and seemed reluctant to leave at the end of the event. That's going to be a hard act to follow!

Monday 7th October is our AGM meeting

The AGM is an important part of the Club's year. We will be electing new officers for the club and discussing plans for the year in addtional to our normal business activity. In place of a speaker we will be showing an amateur film of the village shot in 1944. You never know, you might recognise some of the faces.

50 Plus celebrates Christmas 2019

The clubs Christmas Lunch will be held at the Silverstone Golf Club on Monday the 2nd of December. As in previous years booking is essential. Places can be reserved by contacting Margaret or Helen during our normal monthly meeting or using the normal contact numbers.
